You know, I read those Outsiders trades, and it occurs to me that if that was how I'd been introduced to the character of Jade, I'd probably have thought she was pretty cool.
But it wasn't. I first encountered her in Green Lantern. Where she suffered from a bad case of Girlfriend Syndrome. (And, eventually, a case of Bad Girlfriend Syndrome.)

Arrghh! Hate...Jade...so...much! Even more than Snapper Carr!
Jade is a character I could so as really cool under the correct writer. She has so much untapped story potential, yet always defined by the men in her life. Her Dad and Brother were baggage that weighed her down. Kyle was also a drag, but there were times I could see her shine a bit.
